Intro

We were taking a leisurely train journey to this years vegfest.  Apart from the continued fears about rail strikes as the time approached we were looking forward to a fun time at the events.
On the way I noticed quite how much the countryside was changing with solar farms appearing along the route.

At least some things haven't changed as we passed the same strange mannequin scene we had seen the year before

At the vegfest

stall

As it was Friday we had plenty of time to set up the stall and get things ready.  We didn't have all the stuff as it had not all arrived, but we set things up so the Saturday would start smoothly. Luckily we had Caroline and Dianne to help with the set up, so it was finished quickly.

Bristol bear

The evening saw us enjoying some time with Alv and Paul who put up with us until Monday (they should get medals), so we enjoyed a home cooked meal as we prepared for the fun to follow.

Saturday

stall

Saturday started well with a good crowd, lots of music wafting in, but the rain had other plans for the day.  The floor of the marquee slowly flooded as the day went on and the marquee itself started to leak in places.  Luckily we managed to stack our stall stuff onto some chairs, so the majority of our stuff stayed dry.  Apart from that slight issue we had a grand day with plenty of paella and pizza for everyone.

Talk with Carlos

As I was on the stall I missed the talk with Carlos Barbon, but from all accounts it went amazingly well and they had a lively chat about how to plan your diet and training to achieve your strength and physique goals. Hopefully we will get some filming lined up for future talks so we can upload our talks to youtube.

Shoulder press Saturday

real bosses
The REAL bosses at Alv and Paul's house

After Carlos finished his talk it was time to for the shoulder press contest.  This year we had some old faces, but also a lot of 'new blood', so we expected a fierce (but friendly) contest.
This year we tried out something a little bit different.  We tested out videoing the event instead of pictures.  What do you think?  Do you prefer pictures, video or both? [Email me : veganbodybuilding@gmail.com with your thoughts]

Saturday night

saturday rainbow

I was hoping to go and watch music during the evening, but the weather was so bad we decided to head back early and hope tomorrow proved to be better.  Later that evening it cleared up (of course).

Sunday

the bird and the balloon

Sunday had a few small showers at first, but then the day settled down.  We ended up getting a lot of interest on the stall.

Sunday crowds

The stalls close at 6, so we had a few hours to enjoy the music and relax after we emptied our stall.

Sunday night

We ended the evening chilling out with a few friends special thanks to Dave and Jemma for taking much of our stuff back.  You are both stars!

Vegan Runners take over the stall!
